May 19, 2012 – Big Mac

The Mackinac Bridge bridges Michigan Mitten with the Upper Peninsula.  It is nicknamed Big Mac and Mighty Mac because, at around 5 miles, it is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. The yoopers call this Troll Turnpike to poke fun at the Lower Peninsula residents.

I know the second picture will not as impressive as the Mac, we also visited Mackinaw City and St. Ignace City – the place were swarmed by these mayflies – so I took our my macro lens and pointed it into the swarm.  These mayflies were scampering, flying towards the light.
