July 5, 2012 – Heat

These few days are so hot that probably even my sweat sweats.  There has been high temperature warning everywhere in the Eastern US and Canada.  It was so hot that the plants in my garden are practically burned where there are.

  1. I like your photo.
When I lived in the desert of Southern California, there was little I could grow there. I have a love for antique fragrant roses, and the plants couldn’t tolerate the extreme heat, even though it was dry heat. Instant potpourri. I can’t think about the money I spent without cringing, hoping, time after time, to be successful. Your photo looks like a raspberry or blackberry plant, which is, of course, in the rose family.
Being a native New Englander, I know what hot is, and I feel for everyone suffering in the oppressive heat.
We’re living in the maritime Pacific Northwest, and once again, I feel very privileged.
    Thanks for sharing this.

    • Thank you very much – yes – this is my raspberry plant. The blackberry are luckier – they were planted in the shade and its flourishing – I was expecting this raspberry leaves to instantaneously combusted anytime now. Pacific Northwest sounds like the place to be at this time.
