September 3, 2012 – Bokashi

This is another experimental photo – a bokeh.   Bokeh has been defined as “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light”.  While wikipedia-ing the word, I was very surprised to find out that the term’s origin is from Japan – boke.  Another cool tidbit from wikipedia was that the intentional blurring or gradation is called bokashi.  I like bokashi, bokashi is cool 🙂  [this is a paraphrase from the Doctor – “I wear fez now, fezzes are cool”

Anyway, on this unofficial last day of summer, I snapped this picture from a third floor balcony, pointed at some random street lights down Eglinton, in Mississauga.  The resulting shape is quite interesting – it looked like either a cannon or a wheelbarrow 😉
