September 6, 2012 – Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal

I headed to Montreal for a gig that I have to do for a week – got a nice accommodation at Le Westin Montreal.  It seemed like once in Quebec, one need a crash course in French.  Luckily I managed to scrounge up some French words – enough to say hello, make very very small talk to ask whether or not the other person speak Anglais and feigned relief when he/she speaks English.  I found out that most people (of different culture and language) are very cordial and helpful once they realize that even though you are like a fish out of water, you still make an attempt to respect their culture and tradition by attempting to communicate using their language.

The hotel was a within a walking distance to the copy of the Notre Dame – called Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal (heck, many things are within walking distance in the city).  So we checked in and checked out the neighbourhood.
