December 21, 2012 – Apocalypse
Well, I guess the end of the world has been postponed due to budget cuts or may be the lack of participation from the world’s baddies. In any case, here we are. This is the picture I was planning on posting for December 31st. I already know where I should take the picture and how. Since I will be quite busy on December 31st, I guess today would do. Many people wait for something major to do meaningful things in their life. End of the world is probably as meaningful as it gets and it just so happen that we all get a second chance. So go say your I love yous, take your overdue vacations, start checking off your bucket list items, because like it or not, some day, it will end for real.
Now that we have dispense our customary doom and gloom related to apocalypse, today is also winter solstice and there is this great quote from Doctor Who that is just perfect: “On every world, wherever people are, in the deepest part of the winter, at the exact midpoint, everybody stops, and turns, and hugs, as if to say “Well done. Well done, everyone! We’re halfway out of the dark.” Back on Earth, we called this Christmas, or the Winter Solstice.”
