Year 2 – July 24, 2013 Game Over
Life, like these chess pieces, separate us into hierarchy. The haves and the haves not, the overlords and underlings and the queens and soldier. All of us, no matter our societal status, have a role to play. There are times where we can work hard and elevate our status and there are times that we don’t have much choice but to play our role the best we can.
Some will look at this chess analogy and says “well, I am just a lowly soldier – a pawn. Since I can’t do anything about it. I don’t want to do anything about it.” Of course, we all know that it could not have been farther than the truth. Played correctly, at the right hands and skills, a pawn could become a queen.
That being said, some times, your status doesn’t really matter at all. What really matter is what you do in your own situation. Give your best no matter what you are and what you do. If you have to be the pawn, be the best of pawn you can be. Just remember, when the game is over, everyone goes to the same box. It is the journey that really the matter.
